Podcast Episode 37: Show Notes!
Posted on September 10, 2021
All the everything from the Fiber & Fox Podcast Episode 37:
The Cardigan- which is either the Fields Cardigan or the Therimos Cardigan (cast your votes!): I have finished grading it and just need to get yard estimates calculated out. Then it will be time for a tester call probably in the next week!
Make sure you’re following on instagram and subscribed to my mailing list if you’re interested in testing! I will need at least 2 people testing each size (XS-4XL), so keep an eye out for that opportunity!
*The yarn I used for this design is a combo of Life in the Long Grass Fine Sock in the color “Gorse” and Fiber for the People in an original skein (now the colorway is slightly warmer?) of “Leather.”
I had initially purchased this skein of West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4 Ply with the intent of making Potter & Bloom’s new Zigzaggy Socks – didn’t wait long after the pattern released to get started! Finished the first and about half done on the second. These are already my 10th pair of socks (9th if you’re not counting toddler sized ones?) of the year!
I am also neaaarrly finished with my Mount Pleasant, a tee by Megan of @pipandpin. It’s definitely a beginner friendly way to jump into lace if you’re hesitant. The last is charted and written out fully, and is only like a 7 or 8 row, easy to memorize repeat. I am also adoring the the yarn from Urth Yarn’s Harvest Fingering line that is naturally dyed with Buckthorn! I snagged this one on my day at Northampton Wools. Cannot wait to have this one in my fall wardrobe!
After completing my vlog tour of the I-91 2021 Shop Hop trail (see all the vlogs here!) Rachel of Ewe and You contacted me to say she had a little gift for all the vloggers/podcasters who visited the 9 shops. A super sweet (and sheepy) card signed by all the shop owners and a Yarny “PODCASTING” pin from Channy Peas Corner. I also grabbed a knitted rainbow sticker for myself from Ad Knits.
Lastly, while I haven’t gotten started on the project yet, I did buy yarn to make an owl- excuse me, “A Daytime Blue Mama Owl Princess Owl” I mean – costume for my daughter’s birthday, as per her request. Rather than trying to figure out how to crochet owl wings from scratch I will be following the Child’s Feather Wing Shawl by @craftyintentions. I got 2 colors of Stroll Gradient (“Ice Sculpture” and “Sea You Later”) which I’ll be holding double for the feathers and Swish DK in “Artic” as the outline of the feathers. Stay tuned.
That’s it! Thanks for hanging out with me! See you in Episode 38!
