I don’t know about you, but I love taking a peek into fiber events around the country/world when I can’t attend myself! I know, at least in this New England area, that VKL and Rhinebeck get all the glory, but I wanna share some of the smaller, just as awesome events with you!

Boston Farm and Fiber Festival, a fiber vlog by Bella's Custom Crochets

A couple weeks ago the whole BCC fam (being myself, my husband and our adorable offspring) ventured up to Boston, Massachusetts for the 3rd Annual Boston Farm and Fiber Festival. It was our first time attending the event and since it just so happens to take place every year on my birthday weekend, we figured we might as well make a weekend long family affair out of it!

A lil info on the event for you (taken from their Facebook event page!)

“The 3rd annual Boston Farm & Fiber Festival brings together 25+ New England local farm fiber vendors right into the heart of downtown Boston. We are excited to offer a showcase for small fiber farmers and producers throughout New England and to celebrate the wonderful, sustainable, gorgeous and diverse world of #FarmYarns. The Boston Farm & Fiber Festival is the only festival in New England that exclusively celebrates and promotes farm yarns, single heritage sheep breed yarns, and flock yarns. Our farmer partners will be showcasing a stunning + diverse range of breed specific yarns, roving, fleece, and crafts including Merino, Shetland, Cormo, Leicester Longwool breeds, along with other heritage sheep breeds and blends, including a number of alpaca farmers. We are proud to provide a venue for these gorgeous and sustainable fibers

We also decided it might be fun to dip our toes into the world of vlogging while we were there! We’ve broken the trip down into a couple chunks for you!

PART 1: Days 1 & 2: the trip up, a little bit of Boston, a visit to the New England Aquarium , and a bunch of random footage of my child being overwhelmingly adorable.

PART 2: Day 3: The actual event! It was so well attended (ie: crowded!) but I think we got some really nice footage to give you a feel for the event and the amazing vendors there! So much sheepy goodness, and even though it was cramped, it’s nice to be cramped with like-minded, yarn loving folk! Definitely planning on going back to this event in the future!

PART 3: The haul. Once we got home I recorded a nice lil’ haul video too of all my purchases, cause who doesn’t like to look at a friend’s fibery goodness?! Normally I am a very meager spender, but it was my birthday! Treat yo’self 2020, fiber edition number 1.

I hope you enjoyed coming along on this trip with us! We hope to continue doing vlog style videos whenever we can! (you can find my previous vlog of the Fiber Festival of New England) We’ve got Stitches in Hartford, CT coming up in March, and Connecticut Sheep, Wool & Fiber coming in April, so definitely more fiber vlogs soon!
