ADMIN:

I’m back (again?)! And I have actual finished objects and WIPS!

I had intended to run a pattern sale with the start of spring last weekend but…pregnant brain…so we are having a lil sale THIS week! You can use the code SPRINGFOX10 for 10% all of any of my patterns on Ravelry through Sunday the 27th of March ’22.

In particular if you’re in a spring time mood, check out the Dandelion Dance Shawl, the Dandelion Drops Wall Hanging for some dandelion stitch love. Or the Forgotten Lore Shawl and the Serenity & Shiloh Shawl (which is also what I am wearing this episode!) for lovely spring weight, super light and airy shawl options. The Stigandr Vest or the Fandeco Vest if you fancy some lacy layering, or the Fandeco Tee for a cute spring/summer DK weight too option!

FOs:

The Easter/Spring dress/top/skirt project! I have aspirations of creating some new pieces for my daughter’s spring wardrobe, but I TOTALLY winged it on this one, so sorry so patterns! I worked it up in Lion Brand Nuboo yarn (in the colors Peach* and Salmon*), and other than being a bit HEAVY, I think it all came out exactly as I had hoped! Cute, yeah?

I also finished a pair of *basically* Blueberry Waffle Socks by Sandy Turner in some scrappy yarn bits. The main color is Paton’s Kroy Clover Colors (affiliate link), and I used West Yorkshire Spinners Signature 4-ply in the color “Cardamom” held double with a gray nameless single plied mill end that I got when I visited Green Mountain Spinnery (you can watch the mill tour here!). I also used up a wee bit of Paton’s Kroy Grey Marl in the pre-toe section when I ran out of my main color!

WIPs:

Finish one pair, gotta start another! Working up just a super basic vanilla sock in some scrap gray yarn (Cascade Heritage “Charcoal”) and an odd 50 gm skein of some yarn I thrifted. It was originally from AC Moore, so I am assuming it’s no longer available, but it’s Red Heart “Heart & Sole” sock yarn in the color…“Tequila Surise?” Not sure if that’s supposed to be sunrise or surprise or what but…?? Kinda random on the stripes, but cute colors!

Acquirings:

I acquired some yarn by way of a destash that I am holding onto for a long term/no time line goal project idea of mine. I want to collect the color scheme from the children’s book “Caps for Sale” by Esphyr Slobodkina . All my life I have just LOVED the colors in those illustrations, and have always been on the look out for the perfect yarns to create a design based on that color scheme. These 3 skeins were originally from Round Table Yarns, who unfortunately isn’t dyeing anymore. I’m kinda sorrowful about it through, cause I am LOVING this dye style! Both are on the Merlin base in the colors “Bedivere” and “Orkney.”

And that’s it…That’s all the everything for this episode – see you in episode 49!
